Leaving for Africa!!

I am leaving for Africa tomorrow!! We will go to deepest borehole at the summit!! and huge area  of spatial temperature measurements at over night. We will have a limited time at the summit under the full moon light!

Sounds crazy but what will be fun? if we don’t dream it and without move to action… Remember when you see next full moon, that’s the night we are drilling around Kilimanjaro crater and on the glacier!!

I bring some secret tool for altitude operation. Report for you later!!

Travers in Canada – Northwest Passage-

I am leaving for Africa next week!! then continue to climb the Peruvian Andes in October. So I will try but not much chance to connect internet! Please stay tuned here. It will have nice picture from the mountain!!

Today, I would like to announce snow machine trip in next spring!! about three years of silence, we are finally start again!! a lot of new 4 stroke models in the market!! We will use new Skidoo Tundra 600cc to traverse Canada!! It will take about 40 days in 4500km!! It will be fun trip in most of March 2013!!

Red dot shows existing our network in Alaska and Yukon, Canada. Canada has not much villages in North, that will be good for us to go all!!! Red line will be 2013 snow machine route, Yellow line will be 2014 kite and machine route, the complete in 2015 (white route)!!

PolarTREC teacher John Wood is joining GLOBE scientists, students, and fellow teachers on an ascent of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. The event will take place before the team summits. We will describe what the conditions for expedition are like as well as highlight the permafrost research taking place on the mountain as well as hydrology and mountain ecology.
